Kim Guillemette (Cogar),
Your Lawyer in Timmins
Born and raised in Timmins, Kim Guillemette has been practicing law in this community since February 2000. Graduating from Laurentian University with an Honours Bachelor degree in Law and Justice (French program), Kim then completed her legal studies at the University of Ottawa. It was therefore only natural that she remains in the North.
In previous years, she has enjoyed sitting on the Board of Directors for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Access Better Living, and the Timmins-Temiskaming Legal Clinic. Throughout her career, Kim has always been generous with her time within our community. More specifically, she has been actively involved with Special Olympics and Autism.
Being from the north, Kim also enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, boating, and motorcycle riding.
Kim is fully bilingual (French and English). Her areas of practice include family law, child protection, estate planning, real estate, business law and provincial prosecutions. She has a special interest in Henson Trusts and Guardianship Applications designed to benefit disabled persons.
Kim has successfully advocated/assisted her family law clients in matters which have included:
- Complex divorce
- Child custody, access and child support
- Negotiation and drafting of separation agreements
- Division of matrimonial property
- Spousal support
Kim is dedicated to her clients by helping them navigate through the often difficult process of family law litigation. She respects that people sometimes find themselves in difficult situations in which they never dreamed and she is dedicated to guiding them through those trying times.
